Mooradian Studio is a Hackney-based design practice that works across scales. The studio has a client-centred approach that forms precise briefs and tailors bespoke design solutions. Our professional experience began with arts buildings and galleries in London and has grown to include furniture, exhibitions, cultural institutions, private homes and refurbishments around the world.
Environmental ethics are at the core of our design approach. Every project considers where materials are sourced, how they are processed and assembled, and how they will be inherited by future generations. We treat each design object as part of a local, historical and environmental continuum. We believe that craft is achieved through the refinement of geometric principles alongside material research and prototyping.
Aram Mooradian graduated first in his class from the Architectural Association in 2011. He trained at Herzog & de Meuron in Basel prior to joining 6a architects in London, where he was a senior architect. At 6a he worked on a range of arts projects including the Juergen Teller Studio (nominated for the RIBA Stirling Prize in 2017) and The Perimeter, Bloomsbury (shortlisted for the RIBA London Awards in 2018). Aram established Mooradian Studio in 2018 and currently teaches at the University of Cambridge, where he is a Bye-Fellow of Downing College.
